The similarities seen in the design of these items suggest that they  could have both been made by the same company.

STUBEN GLASS DIVING GIRL figurine

16/5/2017

The DIVING GIRL figurine is 13 inches high
Seen in crystal, blue and pink in a frosted finish.

Picture
Recently I received an email with photographs attached that were taken of a display at a Glass Museum in the US.

The Diving Girl figurine is seen in the photographs.
The figurine has been incorporated into the design of glass items.

The display was in the Carder Gallery at the Corning Museum of Glass which is located in the city of Corning in Corning County NY United States.

This display consisted of Stuben Glass items owned by the Museum along with those owned by Bob Rockwell, who was a renowned  collector and an authority on Stuben  glass.

I quote from the Corning Museum of Glass website -

"Some of the pieces in the Carder Gallery belong to The Corning Museum of Glass, but  the  majority was on loan to the Museum from the nearby Rockwell Museum.
Robert Rockwell, a Corning businessman and the founder of the Rockwell Museum, was a friend of Carder’s and a dedicated collector of all types of Carder’s Steuben glass.

The gallery includes several thousand pieces, and it shows every type of Steuben glass that Carder created."

"The Carder gallery was named in memory of Frederick Carder (1863 - 1963)
a gifted English designer who managed Steuben Glass Works from its founding in 1903 until 1932."

Frederick Carder passed away on the 10th December 1963.
Robert Fay Rockwell Jr (1911-2009).

The three items pictured below were featured in this Stuben Glass display.
Note how  the Diving Girl figurine has been used in all three items.
