" McKee Glass was founded in 1834 by five McKee brothers in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania USA.
The factory moved to Jeanette Pennsylvania in 1888 and combined with the National Glass Company.
In 1903 the company reorganized to become the McKee factory". Wikipedia
The FAN DANCER lamp is 11¼"(28.6 cm) high and 7⅝"
(19.4 cm)wide in one piece

Seen in crystal, amber, green, blue and pink in a frosted finish.
It is also seen in Jade(green) and Milk (white) glass.

Whilst recently viewing a program on Foxtel called American Pickers some interesting information came to light about the Fan Dancer lamp.
The two pickers in the show were looking at a collection owned by Amber Digiovanni and in her collection was one of the Fan Dancer lamps in pink.

Amber Digiovanni mentioned and I quote "The lamp was made to commemorate the artistic flair of  Sally Rand who was a 1920's Burlesque Fan Dancer
I find  this information fascinating and  worthy of a mention.
Sally Rand 1904-1979
Born Helen Gould Black on the 2nd April 1904 in Elkton Hickory County Missouri USA

Picture
The photograph of the purple Seagull flower frog has been kindly supplied by a collector from INDIANA  in the USA.
The date of its manufacture is unknown.
It is 10 inches (28 cm) high in one piece.

Up until this point in time I have only seen the Seagull flower Frog in crystal as pictured below.
It was made by the Cambridge Glass Company in Cambridge OHIO in the USA.

Picture
The following Figural & Flower Frog colour chart is compiled by the NATIONAL CAMBRIDGE COLLECTORS INC. in the USA.
The chart lists the Seagull flower frogs as only being made in CRYSTAL.
See the  forth row from the bottom of the chart.

It is interesting that one has now come to light in purple.

The collector who owns the purple Seagull flower frog has mentioned that another collector has seen one in amber.

Should you have one or know of one in any other colour please let me know.
